What to wear for your elopement: How to bring in your own style

So you've come to the decision that you don't want a traditional wedding and you want to elope. Your next thought is, well, what the heck do I wear? You are already breaking the mold, why not incorporate your own unique style? Just because society has created the norm of a white fairytale dress and a black tuxedo, it doesn't mean you have to conform to those ideals. You can go as bold and different or as subtle and organic as you'd like to embrace your own uniqueness. Make your own statement, it's your day. Ask yourself what am I wearing when I feel my best? There's the start as you begin exploring what kind of vibe you want to go with.

If you want to stay more traditional, play up your style with bolder accessories that have some

character. You can bring in pops of color with things like your shoes, or layering pieces. It's all about being confident, so first and foremost go with what makes you feel like your best self!

All you free spirited souls out there, confidently play up your organic selves with some bohemian inspired goodness! Floral crowns paired with turquoise jewelry encompass an earthy vibe. Bolo ties offer an extraordinary sense of style without trying too hard.

Lace has always been the traditional choice for wedding dresses but take it from ordinary to unordinary with some peek-a-boo sheer detailing to bring in your own sexy! A slim belt to create some shape and some ornate vintage flats accessorized with an antiqued gold neck piece completes an authentically unique look.

Deep blue in place of the traditional black tux brings an element of style all on its own. Mix it with grey and it's a beautiful palette to compliment the tones of the forest. Perfectly suited ( no pun intended!) for mountain elopements with the green in the backdrop.

If a downtown urban elopement is more your thing, don't be afraid to bring on the edge! Mixing a playful dress with some Chucks and a throwback style isn't just fun but makes a fabulous statement!

The pops of red used in the brides Las Vegas themed bouquet along with the groom's details scream fun! Don't be afraid to think out of the box when it comes to accessorizing!

Those shoes tho...right?! Can I get an AMEN?

Ahhhhh, the little black dress. The staple in everyone's closet...there's a reason why we all love black. Don't save the most body complimenting color for a funeral, take advantage of your go-to wardrobe color choice for your wedding day! There are countless styles that could be just waiting to catch your eye. You have plenty of choices if you are a bit more on the daring side.

A deep plunge neckline brings all kinds of sexy to your look. You can layer with a shall, kimono, even a small woven blanket if it's chilly to add some texture and appeal.

Accessorize with statement coats, botanical hair accents or a printed tie for the groom to personalize your style.

If you're on a budget, Amazon actually has some good options that apply to almost every style. Etsy is my number one recommendation for wedding dresses that are not only reasonably priced but allow you the option to have them made specific to your measurements. You can find virtually every style out there!
